Airway Heights police use safety cameras in chase and arrest

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. – Airway Heights Police responded to a FLOCK safety camera alert that led to the arrest of a man after fleeing police on Tuesday.

Officers received the alert from the safety cameras notifying them of a car that was flagged for a prowling incident on Sunday.

The car was spotted by police on Tuesday near the Northern Quest Casino and officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the car rammed into the police car and fled.

Police followed the car through the landscaped portions of the casino grounds until it was stopped by extensive damage.

The occupants of the car then fled on foot and police detained them shortly after.

Douglas J. Farmer, 34, was booked into Spokane County Jail for attempting to elude police, assault, malicious mischief, vehicle prowling, theft, possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding Department of Corrections escape from community custody warrant.
