SPOKANE, Wash. — SpokAnimal has announced that after 13 years, they will no longer be managing the High Bridge Dog Park.

On their social media pages, SpokAnimal said “As of Friday, Nov.3rd, SpokAnimal is no longer managing the High Bridge Dog Park. We have enjoyed the park for many years and hope that the park continues to be a great source of fun and entertainment for your dogs.”

Since December 2010, they have been paying for trash collection, water service and maintenance of the park along with managing their animal shelter and pet food bank.

Trash being left behind at the park has drastically increased which began to be too much for SpokAnimal to maintain.

According to the Spokane Parks and Recreation Department, the city will be taking over operations of High Bridge Dog Park.

Across all parks systems in the area, there has been an increase of litter left behind. Park officials will be taking time to improve the existing park instead of finding a new site at this time.

If you have questions, or want more information, please contact the City of Spokane Parks Department.
