GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — A 92-year-old Moses Lake man is dead after a house fire that happened Tuesday night.

On Jan. 16 around 11:45 p.m., firefighters responded to the house fire at 8725 Neppel Rd., about six miles north of Moses Lake.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, about half the home was on fire when crews arrived on scene.

When the fire was put out, the body of Nathan Lee Jones was found inside. His next of kin has been notified.

Other people inside the home at the time of the fire made it out safely, however, it is unknown how many people were in the home or their relation, if any, to Jones.

According to the GCSO, it appears as if the fire started in a clothes dryer. The Grant County Fire Marshal is investigating the official cause and the Red Cross is assisting the now-displaced residents.
