5 people injured after crash shuts down Highway 95 in Sandpoint

SANDPOINT, Idaho — Five people were transported to the hospital after a crash five miles north of Sandpoint.

According to Idaho State Police, Highway 95 is still shut down due to the crash. ISP has two units on the scene, and the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office is also involved. All passengers have been taken to the hospital, and tow trucks are on their way to clean up the scene.

The ISP estimates that traffic will continue as usual in an hour and a half, but this could change based on the clean-up.

Those traveling in this direction should avoid the area if possible.

Highway 95 in Sandpoint is completely shut down after an accident around 8:27 p.m. Sunday night.

According to the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office, Highway 95 at Mile Marker 483.5 is closed. Drivers should expect delays and take a different route.
