3-vehicle crash in Chattaroy leaves 1 injured, blocks southbound lanes and median

CHATTAROY, Wash. — The left southbound lane and median on US-2 and Chattaroy is blocked after a three-vehicle crash that occurred Friday morning with at least one person injured.

At 6:38 a.m. on Jan. 5, law enforcement was called to a crash involving three vehicles on US-2 and Chattaroy.

According to Sgt. Greg Riddell with Washington State Patrol, says that a vehicle pulling a trailer was traveling eastbound on Chattaroy and pulled into the center median. While waiting in the median, the backend of the trailer was sticking out into the left southbound lane.

A vehicle traveling southbound on US-2 hit the backend of the trailer. The collision pushed the vehicle in the median and caused them to crash into another vehicle traveling northbound on US-2.

The driver who hit the backend of the trailer was extricated from the vehicle and has been transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

At this time Sgt. Riddell says there are no signs of impairment.

Due to the crash, the southbound lanes and median on US-2 are blocked. WSP is currently on scene investigating this incident.
