2 people injured after shooting in Boundary County

PORTHILL, Idaho — One person is in the hospital with serious injuries after a shooting in Boundary County Saturday evening.

According to the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), deputies responded to a call of a reported shooting in the Porthill area on March 9 around 7 p.m.

Officers from Bonners Ferry Police and the United States Forest Service assisted in the situation, where they discovered that multiple people were carrying guns and fighting.

Multiple people were arguing over “using an easement road with access to private property.” BCSO said the fight got heated and shots were fired, leaving two people injured. Both were transported to the hospital via ambulance, where one person is being treated for severe injuries.

There have been no arrests yet, and officials are currently investigating the situation.
