1 person displaced after apartment fire in Spokane Valley

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — An apartment fire in Spokane Valley has left one resident displaced Friday morning.

Around 8:15 a.m. on Dec. 29, Spokane Valley Fire Department engines responded to a structure fire on east 3rd Avenue and south Pines Road.

As crews arrived on scene they confirmed that there was a fire inside of a unit at the apartment complex. Inside the complex, firefighters mentioned that a fire started from a stovetop.

It was put out within minutes and no injuries were reported.

Crews on scene say that there was no damage to the apartment complex, only slight smoke damage inside the affected unit.

The Red Cross was on scene at the apartment complex to assist the one resident who was displaced.
