1 injured, 1 arrested following crash in Spokane Valley

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – One person has been injured and another has been arrested following a crash Sunday afternoon.

According to Washington State Patrol (WSP) at around 12:16 p.m., one car was traveling northbound on State Route 27 when they crossed the centerlines and hit a car head-on that was traveling southbound.

WSP says the driver that caused the crash, 46-year-old Oleg Dyfort, wasn’t injured but was arrested and is facing vehicular assault charges.

As for the other car, that driver, 65-year-old Connie Russell, was transported to a nearby hospital due to her injuries.

WSP says that drugs or alcohol were factors in this crash.

The intersection of Pines and Buckeye was closed for several hours, but the road has since opened back up.
