
SUNNYSIDE, Wash. – The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect in a deadly incident that left a man violently killed in Sunnyside.
According to a press release, detectives identified the suspect as 29-year-old Miguel Angel Granados-Vargas, a Sunnyside resident. A warrant has been issued for his arrest on a charge of second-degree murder.
Deputies said the incident occurred late Monday evening near Maple Grove Road and Chaffee Road in rural Sunnyside. The victim had reportedly used an ATV to search for a suspicious person spotted in an orchard. He was found dead shortly after.
Authorities are warning the public not to approach Granados-Vargas if seen, as he may be armed. Instead, call 911 immediately.
