WYOMING — The Wyoming Supreme Court ruled that abortion will continue to be legal in the state, striking down several laws including the nation’s first explicit ban on abortion pills.
The decision came after the state’s only abortion clinic and other parties sued, arguing that the bans violated Wyoming’s constitution.
Abortion has remained legal in Wyoming since Teton County District Judge Melissa Owens, based in Jackson, blocked the bans while the lawsuit was ongoing in November.
