CHEYENNE, Wyo. – A Wyoming senator, alongside another from Louisiana, has introduced a resolution to nominate President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize next year.

The nomination highlights Trump’s work on Operation Warp Speed, an initiative from his first term that aimed to expedite the production and distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana and Senator John Barrasso from Wyoming are spearheading this resolution.

Their proposal comes amid controversy, as Trump has made claims linking autism to childhood vaccine use and pregnant women using fetal medicine. These claims lack scientific backing.

Operation Warp Speed was a significant effort to address the COVID-19 pandemic by accelerating vaccine availability.

The nomination has sparked discussions on Trump’s impact during his presidency, especially concerning his approaches to health initiatives.
