CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Wyoming’s political leaders are voicing their support for the Trump administration’s decision to rescind the Bidenera public lands rule.

Senators John Barrasso and Cynthia Lummis, along with Representative Harriet Hageman, have announced their backing of Interior Secretary Doug Burgum’s announcement.

The Bidenera rule, which was set to allow tribes, states and conservation districts to lease lands for preservation, is being challenged by Wyoming officials.

Senator Barrasso and Senator Lummis released a joint statement regarding the decision. “Getting rid of this harmful rule brings back sensible federal land management,” they said.

Barrasso further emphasized the importance of public lands to Wyoming citizens. “The people of Wyoming depend on access to public lands for our livelihoods,” he said. “The Biden administration’s rule was a direct attack on our way of life.”

This announcement follows a similar statement made by Senator Daines, highlighting a unified stance among these leaders.
