PULLMAN, Wash. – Apparel students at Washington State University recently participated in a challenge to impress the footwear company UGG with creative ideas aimed at drawing more young men to the brand.

Five teams of WSU students tested their understanding of real-world trends, tactics, and consumer behavior during the spring competition.

One team won first place, along with the challenge’s Peer Choice Award, by proposing a crossover between UGG and Carhartt.

Judging the contest were nine senior executives and creative professionals from UGG. They evaluated the students’ case studies on collaborations and products that could expand the company’s male market.

UGG representatives were in search of a project with potential to be presented to senior leaders and designers.
