
PEND OREILLE CO, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol (WSP) has released the cause of a crash that killed Maurice B. Cain, 79, of Newport on February 6.
The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on State Route 211, approximately 11 miles west of Newport.
According to the incident report, Cain was driving northbound when he fell asleep at the wheel, veered off the roadway and crashed his pickup into a rock wall before coming to rest in a ditch.
The report confirmed that no drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision.
No other vehicles or occupants were involved.
