SPOKANE, Wash. – A Spokane woman was sentenced to nearly eight years in prison for shooting a man she claimed had been stalking her
Today, Spokane Superior Court Judge Michelle Szambelan sentenced Trinity H. Christenson, 24, to 93 months in prison on a first-degree assault charge. The incident took place on July 18, 2025, at East Central Avenue near Division Street, according to a news release from the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Court documents reveal that Christenson confronted a man she accused of stalking her by drawing pictures and writing about her on buildings, dumpsters and in notebooks. Christenson shot the man in the neck and then left the scene. The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries but survived.
In court, Christenson pled guilty to the assault charge. Her attorney argued that she acted out of fear due to the victim’s writings.
The sentencing guidelines for first-degree assault with no prior felony convictions range from 93 to 132 months. Both prosecution and defense agreed to the low end of the guidelines in exchange for Christenson’s acceptance of responsibility.
Christenson was also sentenced to 36 months of community custody.
The case was handled by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Dale Nagy, who worked alongside victim/witness advocates and the Spokane Police Department.
