Bridgeport, WA – A woman was stabbed in the face at San Marcos Market in Bridgeport, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) said in a release.
Deputies went to the market on Columbia Avenue on November 15 after receiving reports of a woman confronting a store employee at the front counter.
The confrontation led to a physical fight where the employee was stabbed multiple times in the face, DCSO said.
The victim, who knew the suspect from a prior verbal altercation, was transported to Three Rivers Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Deputies initially attempted to contact the suspect at her residence on Fairview Avenue but were unsuccessful. Despite efforts to locate her around Bridgeport, she was not found.
On November 18, deputies said the suspect voluntarily surrendered at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Substation.
She was taken into custody and booked at Chelan County Regional Jail on charges of Assault in the First Degree and Malicious Mischief in the Second Degree.
Nonstop Local typically does not name suspects until they are formally charged.
