FERRY COUNTY, Wash. – Wolves have been attacking cattle in the Kettle Mountains, resulting in the death of at least one calf and injuring three more.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) reported that a livestock producer shot and killed a wolf that was chasing cows.
In response to these incidents, WDFW is considering taking action to ensure the safety of livestock in the area.
Last year, the annual wolf count found at least 230 wolves across 43 packs in Washington.
Residents and livestock producers are urged to stay informed about developments from WDFW.
