GREER, Idaho – Firefighters are battling a six-acre wildfire on Old Greer Grade Road, with several structures threatened.
According to the Idaho Department of Lands (IDL), crews from IDL, the U.S. Forest Service, the Nez Perce Tribe, and the Clearwater-Potlatch Timber Protection Association are working to construct containment lines, slow the fire’s spread, and protect nearby structures.
There are currently no evacuation orders, but officials said five structures are threatened.
Approximately 25 personnel are on scene, along with three engines, one bulldozer, one helicopter and one air attack aircraft. Additional resources have been requested.
IDL said the fire was reported around 8:30 p.m. Thursday. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Originally published on June 26, 1:20 p.m. – LEWIS COUNTY, Idaho – The Old Greer Grade is currently closed due to ongoing fire activity, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
The Idaho Department of Lands and local sheriff’s office are present at the scene. Residents and travelers are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
