Crews temporarily halted forward progress though it remains at 0 percent containment, according to Eric Keller from the Department of Natural Resources.
Despite the progress in the firefighting efforts, evacuations are still in place, although they have been lowered to level 2, according to Robert Gray, District #9 Public Information Officer.

East Stoneman Road is closed at Market Street. No structures damaged or injuries reported at this time.
Fire crews have a wet line established around most of the fire, according to Robert Gray, PIO with Spokane County FD#9.

A Level 3 evacuation has been ordered. Residents are urged to leave immediately.
The evacuation order affects areas east of Market and south of Stoneman, including Sorrel Lane and Florida Lane.
Authorities are urging residents within the evacuation boundary to prioritize safety and leave the area without delay.
MEAD, Wash. – A wildland fire covering four acres has been reported in the Mead area, east of Market Street and Parksmith Drive.
Robert Gray, Public Information Officer with Spokane County Fire District #9, urged the public to steer clear of the area.
