Whitworth University shines in U.S. News 2026 rankings

SPOKANE, Wash. – Whitworth University has achieved notable recognition in the 2026 Best Colleges Rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

The university was ranked No. 5 in Best Value Schools in the West, leading the region.

Whitworth also secured the No. 15 spot in Best Regional Universities in the West, marking 27 years in the top 15 percent.

“Rankings are only one measure of a university, but they affirm what we know to be true: Whitworth offers high value, strong support for veterans, and a Christ-centered community where students grow in both mind and heart,” says Josh Hibbard, vice president for enrollment management. “I’m proud to see these commitments recognized once again among the top universities in the West.”

Whitworth also ranked No. 11 in Best Colleges for Veterans in the West, highlighting its dedication to veteran support. Additionally, the undergraduate engineering program rose to No. 162, and the university improved its social mobility ranking to No. 37 from No. 56.

The rankings reflect various indicators such as graduation rates, faculty salaries and student-faculty ratio. The full rankings are available online and will appear in the Best Colleges 2026 guidebook.
