WHITMAN COUNTY, Wash. – Residents should be on the lookout for ballots for the upcoming special elections in February.
Voters in Rosalia are set to decide on the future of two expiring levies for the school district. The first levy, a two-year operations levy, seeks approximately $1.1 million to support student transportation, athletics and extracurricular activities.
The second levy, a separate $90,000 capital levy, is intended to fund technology, safety and security upgrades across the district’s buildings.
Together, these levies would cost residents slightly less than $3 per $1,000 in assessed home value. Both levies require a simple majority to pass.
Ballots must be postmarked by February 10.
