WHITMAN COUNTY, Wash. – A car crash in Whitman County resulted in the death of one person and injuries to several others, according to the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO).
The crash occurred Saturday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. when 76-year-old Teresa Leas lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a culvert, deputies reported. The car reportedly became airborne before coming to a stop.
Teresa Leas and Sonia Leas were airlifted to Sacred Heart. Sonia was pronounced dead at the hospital. Two other passengers involved in the crash were taken to Whitman Community Hospital for treatment.
The WCSO is currently investigating the incident.
