Wenatchee Valley firefighters assist in Skagit County rescues

WENATCHEE, Wash. – Members of the Wenatchee Valley Fire Department (WVFD) have been busy assisting with water rescue operations across the state, according to WVFD via Facebook.

Five WVFD water rescue technicians joined Chelan Fire and CCFD#3 as part of the Mid-Columbia Strike Team to help Skagit County. A sixth member participated in an all-hazards incident management team.

The team worked through the night and all day, rescuing 13 people and multiple pets.

Locally, WVFD members have provided mutual aid in Leavenworth, helping rescue more than 10 stranded people.
