SPOKANE, Wash. – A water rescue operation is currently taking place along the Little Spokane River.
The call for help came in near West Rudder Parkway, with rescuers staged near US 291 and North River Park Lane.
First responders, including Fire District 9, Spokane Fire, and the sheriff’s office, received the call just before 9:00 p.m.
The situation involves two kayakers who are unable to exit the water.
Authorities have reported no injuries so far.
However, they anticipate the kayakers will require medical attention due to exposure to the cold water.
