OLYMPIA, Wash. – Washington State Superintendent Chris Reykdal spoke with NonStop Local, addressing the ongoing uncertainty faced by educators despite recent developments.
Reykdal stated, “I think what districts are reflecting now is, hey, we don’t have a cliff coming, which is great, but I’m going to take the next year to phase out a lot of this stuff because I don’t believe it’s going to be there in the future. So the pain isn’t done and the impacts on kids isn’t done. It’s just we bought time.”
Reykdal commended the bipartisan effort to release funds, expressing hope that these discussions will continue into future legislation.
