OLYMPIA, WA – The Washington State Fire Service is inviting the community to attend the Washington State Fallen Firefighter’s Memorial Service on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the State Capitol’s West Campus in Olympia.
The service will honor Battalion Chief Ron Cato of Pend Oreille County Fire District #2, among others. Chief Cato’s dedication and service to the community will be remembered during this solemn event.
The memorial will include a procession, a bell ceremony, and plaque presentations to the families. Embroidered ribbons will also be hung on the memorial pike pole in remembrance.
The event starts at 1:00 p.m. at the State Capitol, located at 416 Sid Snyder Avenue SE, Olympia, Washington. The community is encouraged to attend to pay their respects.
