Washington residents urged to support flood relief efforts

OLYMPIA – Secretary of State Steve Hobbs has called on Washington residents, public employees and state retirees to support those affected by recent flooding in Western Washington.

Hobbs authorized the Disaster Relief Center’s activation on December 11, as part of the Office of the Secretary of State’s Combined Fund Drive, to initiate a special fundraising campaign to aid response and recovery efforts.

“Whenever disaster strikes, Washington’s residents and state employees have always stepped up to offer support when needed most. This time, it is for our own neighbors and communities,” Hobbs said.

The Disaster Relief Center guides donors to verified crisis-relief charities during significant disasters. It does not endorse specific charities but provides accurate information to help with donation decisions.
