Washington home insurance rates jump 19.5%, third highest in the U.S.

WASHINGTON – Home insurance rates in Washington have surged, with a 19.5% increase over the past year, according to LendingTree’s 2025 State of Home Insurance Report.

This marks the third largest increase nationwide. Over the past six years, Washington homeowners have faced a cumulative 51% rise in rates.

Despite the increase, Washington’s average annual home insurance cost of $1,600 remains 42.9% lower than the national average of $2,801.

Montana and Idaho also saw significant increases, ranking eighth and 17th respectively.
