WASHINGTON – Health officials in Washington are emphasizing the importance of updating children’s vaccinations as the new school year approaches.
The Washington State Department of Health has noted a decline in overall childhood immunization rates since the COVID-19 pandemic. This decline has coincided with a significant increase in whooping cough cases due to lower DTaP vaccination rates.
For families seeking assistance, the childhood vaccine program provides free or low-cost vaccines for children 18 and under. Additionally, the MyIR Mobile app is available to help families track their children’s immunization history.
