Washington DNR and WSU to host ‘Forest Owner Winter School’ events

WASHINGTON STATE — The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Washington State University (WSU) Extension are hosting three “Forest Owner Winter School” events starting in February.

The events will feature multiple 50-minute sessions covering various topics such as wildfire preparedness, landowner assistance programs, wildlife habitat enhancement and forest health issues like bark beetles and root disease. An area with exhibitors, vendors and informative displays will also be available.

The first event will be held at Spokane Community College in Colville on February 7, starting at 9 a.m.

The second event is scheduled for February 21 at Green River College in Auburn, beginning at 8 a.m.

The final Winter School event will take place at the WSU Vancouver campus on March 21, starting at 8 a.m.
