Washington and Idaho rank in top 10 state economies

WASHINGTON – CNBC has ranked the top 10 state economies in the country, and both Washington and Idaho have made the list.

Washington ranks sixth, largely due to its high survival rate for new businesses. The state is home to major companies like Amazon, Microsoft and Costco, contributing to its strong economic growth. However, experts warn that Washington’s economy is vulnerable to trade tensions, particularly with China.

Idaho follows closely, landing at the seventh spot. The state’s housing market is rebounding quickly, and experts attribute Idaho’s strong economic growth to its low exposure to tariffs. Despite these strengths, the study notes that Idaho’s reliance on federal dollars could be risky if budget cuts continue.

Topping the list are Florida, Texas and North Carolina.
