WARNING: New graphic video shows fight on the University of Idaho campus that hospitalized one man

MOSCOW, Idaho – New video has emerged of a fight on the University of Idaho campus that left one man hospitalized.

Austen Dawson’s father shared that Dawson remains in an induced coma, battling for his life.

He has a clot in his brain and significant injuries. There is no information on when doctors plan to wake him up.

Moscow Police Chief Anthony Dahlinger said no one has been charged, and there is no new information to share.

The Phi Delta Theta fraternity released the following statement on Friday, responding to the incident:

“Phi Delta Theta General Headquarters has become aware of an incident that took place on September 24 within the Greek Row at the University of Idaho. The individual involved has been removed from membership and the Fraternity is working with the chapter to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine next steps.”

“Phi Delta Theta holds the safety of every member of the Fraternity as well as the individuals of the campuses and communities they are a part of, in the highest regard, and does not support or condone violence. The organization does not tolerate any actions that directly contradict the values and policies of the Fraternity and holds strict rulings against members and chapters that violate Fraternity expectations and the law.”

In response to the incident on Wednesday night, the University of Idaho released the following statement:

“Our thoughts are with the delivery driver who was injured during a delivery Wednesday night. We do not condone violence nor behaviors that put others at risk. Moscow Police Department is conducting an investigation into the incident. University of Idaho has a student code of conduct that all students are expected to follow. Any violations of this code are reviewed and appropriate actions taken within the scope of the university’s capacity.”

MOSCOW, Idaho — The Moscow Police Department is investigating a fight that sent one person to the hospital with significant injuries and reportedly involved a University of Idaho fraternity member.

According to Moscow Police Chief Anthony Dahlinger, the incident happened around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Idaho Avenue and Elm Street.

Chief Dahlinger told NonStop Local KHQ a fight occurred between two people, and one person was hospitalized with significant injuries.

The chief said he believes the incident involved a Phi Delta Theta member.

No charges have been filed and an investigation is ongoing.

The University of Idaho Phi Delta Theta chapter has had notable members nationally, including Idaho Gov. Brad Little and U.S. Sen. Jim Risch.

Police are asking anyone who lives in the area or was traveling nearby and may have surveillance, dashcam or cellphone video to contact Detective Sgt. Gunderson at (208) 883-7067.
