SILVERTON, Idaho – The Wallace School District announced that one of its buses was in a low-speed crash with a parked car at the bottom of a ramp to Silver Hills Elementary School. The incident happened during the bus’s afternoon route on Tuesday.
The district said there were no reported injuries and only minimal damage was caused to the vehicles involved.
“This incident serves as a timely reminder of how quickly road conditions can change during our unpredictable winter weather. The WSD continues to prioritize the safety of our students, bus drivers, and patrons,” Superintendent of Schools Todd Howard wrote in a letter about the incident.
Howard said district staff continually monitor road conditions to ensure safety steps are taken.
He added that local law enforcement was notified immediately after the incident and a report was completed. After the investigation, the bus and its driver were cleared to continue its regularly scheduled route.
“If you have any questions or concerns related to this incident, please contact the WSD district office at your earliest convenience,” Howard wrote.
