WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Walla Walla Valley has been named one of 20 finalists for America’s Best Wine Region in the 2025 USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
This marks the eighth time since 2018 that the Valley has been a finalist, and it previously won the title in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
“This recognition reflects the deep roots and dedication of our community,” said Liz Knapke, Executive Director of the Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance. “It’s the result of people working together with care and intention – from tending vineyards to crafting wine to building a place where connection thrives.”
The Walla Walla Valley is home to more than 135 wineries and grows over 40 wine grape varieties. It is known for its high-quality wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
The region’s unique geography, crossing the Oregon-Washington state line, includes The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater, renowned for its cobblestone soils.
Guy Glaeser, Executive Director of Visit Walla Walla, stated, “The wine brings people here, but the experience – and the people—are what bring them back.”
Voting for the award is open from 9:00 a.m. PDT on June 23 to 8:59 a.m. PDT on July 21. The public can vote daily to support Walla Walla Valley’s bid for a fourth title.
