SPOKANE, Wash. – The Downtown Spokane Partnership is gearing up for Fall Clean Week, aiming to rally volunteers for a week of community-driven activities to spruce up the downtown area.
Liz Hooker from the Downtown Spokane Partnership described Fall Clean Week as “our opportunity to get out as a community and help prepare downtown for the holiday season and make those preparations for next spring.” Volunteers will focus on tasks such as cleaning up leaves, transitioning planters, and removing graffiti before the colder weather sets in.
Participants will engage in various activities, including litter and leaf clean-up, graffiti removal, and planting new tulip bulbs for spring 2026. Hooker emphasized the inclusive nature of the event, saying, “Anyone who loves downtown or wants to contribute to making downtown a better place and preserving its beauty” should get involved.
Those interested in volunteering can find more information by visiting citysquad.club and clicking on the volunteer tab. This platform provides details on how to participate in Fall Clean Week and other community opportunities.
Hooker explained that the City Support Squad acts as a downtown booster club, uniting individuals who live, work, and play in downtown Spokane to support local businesses and events. She noted, “It’s for individuals who want to be a part of revitalizing our downtown core.”
While the downtown Clean Team operates daily, Hooker highlighted the importance of community involvement, stating, “Litter happens, so make it a goal to pick up litter you find and help us dispose of it in the appropriate receptacles.”
For those looking to contribute regularly, the Downtown Spokane Partnership facilitates larger team projects, including clean-up days and decoration projects. “Downtown is everyone’s neighborhood,” Hooker said. “We all take ownership in a healthy and thriving downtown.”
