Victim identified in deadly SR 904 crash near Cheney

UPDATE: November 25 at 3:40 p.m.

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), Jamie E. Schorzman, 47, from Cheney, was traveling westbound when he crossed the median and crashed into another car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car that was hit was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center with unknown injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. It is currently unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.

Traffic is reportedly moving slowly through the area. According to the real-time travel map from WSDOT, state troopers are on the scene to assist directing traffic.

CHENEY, Wash. – Police are currently on the scene of a two-car crash about four miles north of Cheney on westbound State Route 904, with one person confirmed dead.

Washington State Patrol said that the roadway is fully blocked and closed, and will remain closed for the next few hours while investigators are on the scene.

Drivers are asked to use alternate routes.
