
WASHINGTON – Verizon has announced plans to lay off approximately 165 employees at various locations across Washington as part of a consolidation and restructuring effort. The layoffs are set to begin on January 23, 2026.
The affected locations include Kennewick, Spokane, Spokane Valley and Yakima.
Specifically, several Spokane locations will have a combined 11 employees affected while Kennewick facility will see about three employees laid off and Yakima will see one employee impacted.
Employee separations are expected to be permanent, and no “bumping rights” will allow displaced employees to replace others based on seniority. However, affected employees may seek alternative employment with Verizon if they meet certain eligibility requirements.
Verizon stated that this decision is not expected to result in any overall relocation or contracting out of its Washington operations.
