VANTAGE, Wash. – The Washington State Department of Transportation announced that construction on Interstate 90 across the Vantage Bridge will pause during major summer holidays to accommodate increased traffic.

All four lanes of the bridge will be open during Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day holidays. Specifically, lanes will be fully open from Friday, May 23, to Sunday, June 1, for Memorial Day, and from Thursday, July 3, to Tuesday, July 8, for the Fourth of July. For Labor Day, the lanes will remain open from Thursday, Aug. 28, to Tuesday, Sept. 2.

On weekdays, the bridge will be reduced to one lane in each direction until July 8, with all lanes open on weekends. Starting Wednesday, July 9, the bridge will have one lane open in each direction every day, except during Labor Day weekend, until the project concludes for the season in November.

Repair work on the Vantage Bridge started in spring 2024 and is expected to be completed by 2028.
