US 2 crash in Wenatchee leaves 1 dead, others critically injured

WENATCHEE, Wash. – A deadly collision occurred on Friday night, involving two vehicles at the roundabout of US 2 and Easy Street, the Wenatchee Police Department (WPD) reported.

Around 7 p.m., an Audi A3 was reportedly racing another vehicle on North Wenatchee Avenue before it took the off-ramp to US 2. While travelling east towards the Odabashian Bridge, the Audi crossed into oncoming traffic at a high speed and collided with a GMC Sierra that was travelling westbound.

According to WPD, the eighteen-year-old driver of the Audi, from Wenatchee, and a juvenile passenger were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. A third passenger, also a juvenile, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are seeking information about another vehicle involved in the racing, possibly a Honda Civic. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Eaton at 509-888-4251 or via email at jeaton@wenatcheewa.gov.
