The National Transportation and Safety Board (NTSB) has issued an urgent safety recommendation to modify jet engines on Boeing 737 Max airplanes. This comes after a Southwest Airlines flight experienced a bird strike, causing smoke to fill the cockpit and cabin.
The NTSB classified smoke in the cockpit or cabin as an extreme danger in aviation. The agency is recommending modifications to engine software to prevent such incidents.
This recommendation aims to enhance safety for both passengers and crew by preventing smoke from entering the aircraft compartments.
