UPS is preparing to cut up to 30,000 operational jobs this year as it winds down its partnership with Amazon and undertakes a multi-year turnaround plan.

The company’s Chief Financial Officer stated that the job cuts will occur gradually and through a voluntary buyout offer for full-time drivers.

Additionally, UPS plans to close 24 buildings in the first half of the year with potential for more closures later.

These job cuts follow the elimination of 48,000 jobs last year, including 34,000 operational and 14,000 management positions.
