MOSCOW, Idaho — The University of Idaho released a statement following the sentencing of Bryan Kohberger, who admitted to killing four University of Idaho students in 2022.

The university’s statement reads:

“The sentencing of the man admitting to killing four young, ambitious Vandals in their off-campus apartment on Nov. 13, 2022, marks the end to a drawn-out criminal case and brings some sense of justice to our Vandal Family. We will not forget the four we lost on that fateful day: Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin. They live on in our collective memory and will forever be honored at the Vandal Healing Garden and Memorial.

We remember the families and friends, surviving roommates and all those deeply impacted by the sinister actions of one person. We hope healing can come with time. #VandalStrong”

.

The sentencing comes more than two and a half years after the murders of Goncalves, Mogen, Kernodle and Chapin.

Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador confirmed after the sentencing that Kohberger will be housed at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution in Kuna.
