MOSES LAKE, Wash. — Two suspects were arrested after burglarizing a storage unit at a Moses Lake home twice in three days, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the homeowner reported that a shipping container used for storage in the area of Neppel Road Northeast was burglarized, with about $8,000 worth of property stolen. The homeowner suspected 35-year-old Douglas Raymond of Yakima, who had previously burglarized the property.
Deputies said that on Tuesday around 8:30 a.m., the homeowner alerted deputies that Raymond had returned and was again burglarizing the fenced-in storage container. Deputies said Raymond tried to flee in a pickup but was pulled over on Highway 282 about seven miles south of Ephrata.
Investigators said some of the stolen property was found at Raymond’s home in Yakima and was later recovered.
Raymond and his passenger, 41-year-old Debra Russo-Wright of Yakima, were booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of residential burglary, first-degree theft and possession of stolen property.
