Two people were injured in a crash on Highway 395 on Saturday night, according to a press memo from Washington State Patrol (WSP).
WSP said one car was traveling northbound approaching Russell Lane, when it “left the roadway traveling through a ditch,” and hit another car stopped at a stop sign on West Russell Lane. Two 17-year-olds inside the stopped car were injured and transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center.
The stopped car was pushed into the highway, hitting a third car.
The driver of the initial car fled the scene on foot after the crash, but was later found by law enforcement, WSP said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but WSP said drugs or alcohol were involved.
SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) reported that a collision has blocked US 395 between West Russell Lane and West Wild Rose Road on Saturday night.
According to WSDOT officials, the incident occurred at 6:59 p.m., north of Spokane near milepost 174.
Significant traffic delays have been observed in the northbound lanes of US 395 as crews work on scene to clear the roadway.
No additional details about the collision have been released at this time.
