The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced it is fully staffed and ready to screen more than 44 million travelers during the holiday period, which runs through January 4. This could set a new record if projections hold.
This announcement follows a recent record set by the TSA for daily screenings. The Sunday after Thanksgiving saw more than 3.1 million passengers screened, marking the highest daily screening count to date.
