Trump administration to destroy $10 million in birth control

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Trump administration has decided to destroy nearly $10 million worth of birth control purchased with U.S. taxpayer money instead of sending it to women overseas. A State Department spokesperson confirmed the decision and stated it will cost taxpayers $167,000 to burn the contraceptives.

The birth control, primarily consisting of long-acting methods like IUDs and implants, was mostly intended for women in Africa. According to two senior congressional aides, the State Department is working on the preliminary plan to burn the birth control due to the dismantling of USAID.

It remains unclear if the destruction has already occurred or if it will take place by the end of July. The situation is unfolding, and further developments are expected.
