Truck carrying apples rolls over after driver falls asleep in Douglas County

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wash. – A semi truck full of apples blocked a portion of State Route 17 for multiple hours after the driver fell asleep at the wheel and crashed the vehicle.

Washington State Patrol District 6 posted about the incident on September 17 and said that the road would be blocked for about three hours due at State Route 17 near milepost 122.

The semi truck had rolled over on its side. No one was injured.

Washington State Patrol set up a detour for travelers during the closure and announced that the road was back open about six hours later.

Washington State Patrol released a report about the crash the next day and said the driver had fallen asleep at the wheel.
