WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Trump administration has decided to eliminate a rule from the Biden era that would have mandated airlines to compensate passengers for long flight delays or cancellations.
The rule, which was being considered by the Transportation Department, would have required airlines to provide at least $200 in compensation for significant delays caused by issues such as mechanical problems or airline computer outages.
The Transportation Department stated that the decision to drop the rule aligns with the department and administration’s priorities.
