
SPOKANE, Wash. – “Train Dreams” was filmed in the spring of 2024 primarily around Spokane and Eastern Washington, and may soon see recognition on a national stage. Nominations for the 2026 Academy Awards were released on Thursday, with “Train Dreams” drawing four nominations including Best Picture.
The film is based on a novel of the same name, which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in Fiction in 2012.
The story follows the life of a logger and railroad worker in Bonners Ferry, Idaho in the early to mid-20th century.
