SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Cat Clinic is shocked and outraged after someone was caught on camera Saturday stealing their flowers and plants from the mini garden in front of their office.
Based on the video, which shows a hooded individual stealing the plants and flowers and placing them in a wagon, the clinic managers believe this was not a spur of the moment theft.
The clinic told NonStop Local the thief made off with flowers, plants, planters and hanging flowers.
The owner of the clinic, Dr. Kaylie Shaver, shared that the Little Garden Cafe down the street also had flowers and plants stolen.
A staff member at the cafe confirmed that with NonStop Local.
“We’re just doing this for the community. We want it to look nice. And to have someone come along and literally just rip stuff out of the ground is really disappointing,” Dr. Shaver said.
While they hope to find the thief, Dr. Shaver said some good came out of this, as clients began bringing in new hanging flowers and plants after learning about the theft.
“We feel very lucky to have clients that care about us as much as we care about them. So, some good came out of it,” Dr. Shaver said.
The Spokane Police Department told NonStop Local they did not receive reports about the flower and plant thefts over the weekend. They encourage the businesses or others impacted to file reports or reach out with any information.
